22nd Royal Fusiliers arrived in France in November, 1915 to join 99 Brigade, 2nd Division. Between 17th April and 21st April, 1916 they were in the front line trenches at Souchez, just to the north of Arras. The battalion diary does not go into much detail regarding this tour during which Edward Kelly was killed in action on 20th April. |
